If you need a strong chemical cleaning product to remove stains, bleach is often the go to choice. So if you’re searching for industrial strength commercial cleaning chemicals, get in touch with Cleaning Supplies for wholesale bleach.

What Is Bleach?

First things first; it’s important to note that bleach is a disinfectant and not a cleaner. Whilst it does remove tough stains and whitens clothing; it doesn’t actually clean dirt and residue from surfaces.

There are many different types of bleach however they can usually be categorised in two groups: chlorine bleaches and non-chlorine bleaches. However, all these bleaches are in the same class of chemicals called “oxidative agents”. This means that they cause the chemical reaction called oxidation.

How Does Bleach Disinfect Things?

The active ingredient in bleach, sodium hypochlorite enables the chemical to be used as a disinfectant. The sodium hypochlorite denatures protein in micro-organisms, which makes it very effective at killing bacteria, fungus, and viruses.

It’s a commonly used disinfectant thanks to its relatively inexpensive cost. It’s also important to note that bleach is very powerful. It can kill some of the most dangerous bacteria; this includes staphylococcus, streptococcus, E. coli and salmonella. However, bleach can also kill viruses like the flu and the common cold.

What’s Available From Cleaning Supplies?

Here at Cleaning Supplies, we can provide a wide variety of bleach cleaning chemicals for commercial cleaners and janitorial staff. Our range includes chlorine release tablets such as CLO-TABS which are designed for simple dilution with water to provide a fresh chlorine solution of known strength. One tablet dissolved in 5 litres water produces a 200ppm available chlorine solution.

Alternatively you could choose a product such as Cyclone Thick Bleach which is an extra thick, highly perfumed apple fragranced bleach with added detergent for superior cleaning and thorough disinfecting. It is able to kill a wide range of bacteria, fungi and viruses; making it ideal for use in washrooms, toilets, and kitchens. This product is highly versatile, for example if well diluted, it’s excellent for kitchen worktops, sink units, draining boards etc and can even be used to clean grout in kitchens and bathrooms. However, if you need a bleach to use to sterilise cleaning items, a capful in water will sterilise mops, cloths, and even smelly white socks.

Safety Tip; Avoid Bleach And Hot Water
If you mix bleach with hot water, it can release chlorine gas which is very harmful and very toxic. Even at quite low levels this gas can irritate your eyes and skin, even causing permanent lung damage, it can even be deadly.
